The FloridaVelo Junior Development Team has raced 2 of the most important races in North America during this summer (2009) - The Tour of the Red River Gorge in Lexington, KY and Le Tour de l'Abitibi in Val d'Or, Canada. The team is a composite of the top 17-18 juniors in Florida, joining the team where juniors from Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and even from Michigan.
For us at Velocé Speedwear was a pleasure to be part of the team by outfitting them with jerseys, bib shorts and skinsuits. We believe in supporting the development of junior athletes, and this was a great opportunity for these teenagers to participate in top level events.
Red River consisted of 5 stages - race link
St. 1 = 1 mi TT
St. 2 = 61.6 mi RR
St. 3 = 14.08 mi TT
St. 4 = 70.4 mi RR
St. 5 = 31 mi Crit.
With a total distance of 178 miles
Le Tour de l'Abitibi consisted of 7 stages - race link
St. 1 = 84,7 k RR
St. 2 = 107,0 k RR
St. 3 = 14,5 k TT
St. 4 = 52,2 k RR
St. 5 = 101,5 k RR
St. 6 = 99,2 k Crit.
St. 7 = 65,6 k RR
With a total distance of: 599.4 km or 372.5 mi
