Post Interbike 2009

Interbike was a success for Velocé Speedwear, we were able to talk to some of our current customers and were also able to discuss opportunities with new customers. While it was a crazy week for everyone, after a week of being back all new projects already moving forward. This gives us a positive took to our future and we expect to continue growing as we have been growing for the past few years.

Interbike Update

As in previous years Velocé Speedwear will be participating at the 2009 Interbike show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will be this month (September) 23 -25.

As always we are all excited and busy but for this year we have new products, styles, and improvements on previous products to show everyone!

With Interbike the around the corner everyone here has been working at 110% to get everything ready. Interbike is the biggest show participate and for this year we will have some new products to show.

Velocé Speedwear & Miles for Hope

Velocé Speedwear announces that it continue to outfit the Miles for Hope bike ride with cycling jerseys and technical tee’s.

New for 2009 Miles For Hope has added a run/walk event and Velocé Speedwear will be producing Technical Tee's specific for this event. The top fundraisers will receive a cycling jersey or a technical tee, depending on the event they participate.

In order to promote this great event and cause, Velocé Speedwear has created a team open for anyone to register. The top collector will have the chance to receive one item from our Velocé Collection, select from: 1 jersey, 1 short or 1 bib short (to be eligible you must collect at least $100.00)

Miles For Hope was been founded by Barb and Bob Gibbs to fund brain tumor clinical trials and to provide travel assistance to brain tumor patients enrolled in brain tumor clinical trials.
Brain Tumors are the #1 killer of children under the age of 20. Each year more than 200,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. Primary brain tumors comprise approximately 40,000 of these diagnoses.

FloridaVelo Junior Development Team

The FloridaVelo Junior Development Team has raced 2 of the most important races in North America during this summer (2009) - The Tour of the Red River Gorge in Lexington, KY and Le Tour de l'Abitibi in Val d'Or, Canada. The team is a composite of the top 17-18 juniors in Florida, joining the team where juniors from Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and even from Michigan.

For us at Velocé Speedwear was a pleasure to be part of the team by outfitting them with jerseys, bib shorts and skinsuits. We believe in supporting the development of junior athletes, and this was a great opportunity for these teenagers to participate in top level events.

Red River consisted of 5 stages - race link
St. 1 = 1 mi TT
St. 2 = 61.6 mi RR
St. 3 = 14.08 mi TT
St. 4 = 70.4 mi RR
St. 5 = 31 mi Crit.
With a total distance of 178 miles

Le Tour de l'Abitibi consisted of 7 stages - race link
St. 1 = 84,7 k RR
St. 2 = 107,0 k RR
St. 3 = 14,5 k TT
St. 4 = 52,2 k RR
St. 5 = 101,5 k RR
St. 6 = 99,2 k Crit.
St. 7 = 65,6 k RR
With a total distance of: 599.4 km or 372.5 mi

“I Support Junior Cycling” water bottle

Florida Cycling and Velocé Speedwear are excited to introduce the “I Support Junior Cycling” water bottle. This new product follows after the introduction to the FloridaCycling.com jersey; both of the products have been designed to increasing the funds for the junior programs in the state.

The future of the sport we all love depends on the development of junior riders. Both Florida Cycling and Velocé Speedwear are dedicated to help all juniors wanting to start riding a bicycle or helping them improve their skills.

Florida Cycling will be selling these new bottles online and at the races with the help of the junior riders participating at the events. Each bottle will be sold at $10.00.

Florida Velo Junior Team

Velocé Speedwear is proud to be part of the Florida Velo Junior Development Team. The team is formed from with some of the top junior in the state; the team will be participating this summer at select national and international events.

The select events are the USA Cycling Development Camp, USA Junior National Championships, Fitchburg-Longsjo Classic, Tour of Red River Gorge, and Le Tour de L’Abitibi.

Velocé Speedwear has produced the team kits, with top quality materials ideal for all junior to be comfortable while racing or training.

Triathlon Gear

While we are known for producing cycling and speed skating apparel; we also produce triathlon apparel. We use the same techniques and some of the same materials found in our other products. We produce Tri jerseys, Tri Suits and Tri Tank Tops, this last one is also very popular with runners. Our triathlon specific apparel is available in men or women specific and will fit comfortable while swimming, riding or running.

Florida Cycling Partnership

Florida Cycling and Velocé Speedwear will be working together through 2009, 2010 and 2011. The main goal of the partnership is to help develop junior cyclist in the state. The programs created to achieve this goal are:

• For all custom apparel orders Velocé Speedwear will donate $5.00 per item (some items are excluded) to the Florida Road Cycling Association (FRCA) specifically for the Junior Development Programs.
• Florida Cycling will be selling cycling jerseys and water bottles in an attempt to increase the funds available the Junior Development Programs.
• For the Jerseys Velocé Speedwear has provided Florida Cycling with a low price to maximize the margin on the jerseys.
• For on the water bottles Velocé Speedwear will be pay 50% of the order to help maximize the margin on the bottles.
